The Cemetery at Movella

Cemetery Fees

1. Purchasing a plot can be done by contacting the church office via email. Plots can be purchased per individual for $250.00. Post-mortem burial request (not pre-purchased) will cost $500.00. All purchases can be handled by contacting the church cemetery representative via email.

2. Yearly maintenance fees will be assessed to each plot annually at a rate of $30.00, fees are due no later than second Saturday of June each year. Any unpaid fees will be due prior to opening the plot. Once delinquent fees reach 3 years (36 months) late the plot reverts to the cemetery and is available for resale. Reinstatement of unsold delinquent plots can be made by the original purchasing family only. Fees to reinstate will include all unpaid annual maintenance fees plus $100.00 reinstatement fee.

3. All burials will require a $500.00 deposit prior to opening the plot. This deposit is in addition to the plot purchase fee. The $500.00 deposit is only fully refundable to the person who paid the deposit upon purchase and placement of a headstone. This must be done within 6-months of the time the plot is opened. If a headstone has not been purchased and placed within 6-months, the church will use the deposit to purchase a marker and have it placed. There will be no refund after the 6-month period.

4. Vault purchase from the funeral home is required. Fees for vault purchase will be assessed by the funeral home coordinating the service. No burials will be permitted without a vault.

5. New plot purchases can be purchased on the 2nd Saturday of June at the Movella Assembly of God Church Fellowship Hall and will begin at 9:00 am.

Cemetery Regulations 

1. There will be no modification to the cemetery unless it is approved by the church board.

2. No Plots can be given away or re-assigned, unless approved by the trustees.

3. After a burial, the family is responsible for removing the excess dirt and all the flowers that remain. There will be no trash or dirt thrown over the fence. The family is required to remove it or pay someone to clean up.

4. No slabs or rocks of any kind will be permitted. Current plots with slabs will be permitted and current plots with rocks will be allowed to remain if the family maintains the plot. Any plot that has rocks and/or slabs that are unmaintained may have the rocks and/or slabs removed for proper cemetery maintenance. 

5. No planted flowers or trees of any type will be permitted.

6. Headstones with affixed vases will be allowed however, all flowers must be secure within vase.

Plot Assignments

1. Family coverage for a plot in the Movella Assembly of God Cemetery is defined as concurrent ownership of a plot assigned to father and mother of the child. Family coverage for children plots becomes void at age 21 or the child becomes married. At that time the child must then purchase their own plot and pay any associated fees as listed. The new plot is not guaranteed to be in the same geographic location as the family plot depending on available at the time of purchase.

2. All cemetery plots must have names associated to the plots. No blanket family plots will be allowed. If you currently have a plot and do not have a first and last name ascribed to that plot, please contact the church office to ascribe a name to ensure you have a plot available.

3. Movella Assembly of God Church and its trustees have final say on all cemetery plot allotments.

General Maintenance 

1. Routine maintenance and grounds keeping will be managed by Movella Assembly.

2. The cemetery fund will pay $250.00 per occurrence to the person/company maintaining the grounds.

3. Cemetery secretary paid $300.00 annually for bookkeeping.
